Yeah, it’s not like the U.S. Bishops helped the Dems pass ObamaCare, or push “comprehensive immigration reform”, or insist on higher taxes under the false doctrine of “social justice”.
This does not prevent others from imposing their values on us. Fact is, many non-believers think our values are valueless, indeed harmful. It does matter WHAT you believe. What a society believes about what is good behavior is the basis of its laws. Nonbelievers are now trying to use the law to say what is good behavior and what is bad. Gays believe that saying that sodomy is bad behavior is wrong and should no more be tolerated than saying that blacks are inferior to whites.
Actually there were two of the seven Churches that Jesus had nothing bad to say against: Smyrna and Philadelphia.
It has been well said, that if you are not accused of being antinomian, then you are not preaching the Gospel.
We are free in Christ period but the question is, is what we do contingent on what we believe or the other way around?
I would be the first one to say that voting for Obama means you are not a Christian; but is that really true?
My feelings of revulsion and contempt for Obama are as strong as anybody on Free Republic, and I am not kidding.
But in truth and reality, you are free in Christ and what you do is between you and God. The blood of Christ does not leave you because you do something evil or do something boneheaded as voting for Obama. The blood of Christ is far more powerful than that. My tagline says it best.
