Homosexuality in various forms was not Sodoms only “sins”...
But they right up there with some of the greatest ones..
Like envy and lascivious promiscuity.. masochism and sadism..
Sodom had it going on with malfeasance.. of many types..
Like sexual dysfunction.. child abuse, and cheating on many levels..
Much like New York City..
I always thought it had something to do with the visitors. The Bible gives us the impression that they’re angels appearing as men, but Lot doesn’t act like they’re just a couple of guys. He immediately upon seeing them bows to the ground and full-on begs them to stay at his house. Then, to protect them from the Sodomite night life, he even offers up his virgin daughters to the crowd.
Obviously there was something very different or intense or whatever-you-like about these two guys for Lot to act this way.
Well later Lot had sex with his daughters, while drunk, so NO - not father of the year material.

Lot’s daughter’s plotted to get Lot drunk and have sex for fear of not having children while hidden away. If the bible thought it was important enough to mention, you might’ve thought about mentioning it too.
Come on guys! The story is clear. The meaning is clear. Homosexuality is wrong. None of this other crap matters. Homosexyuality is wrong. That’s the meaning of this story. There is no other meaning dispite channel 12 (Government Sponsered Radio). It wasn’t that the sodomites were inhospitible. It wasn’t that they didn’t share. Look at the words. They are clear. Then draw your own conclusion. That is what the bible is all about. There is no ambiguity. There is no cloudiness. It is perfectly clear what the offense was. It was homosexuality. Of that there is no question. Read it for yourself.
Maybe God does leaves a little room for disagreement (both here and throughout the bible) to weed out those who are intentionally looking to turn from him.

Of course some wits have suggested that if the major sin of Sodom was rampant male on male homosexuality; was the sin of Gomorrah that of Northampton, Massachusetts?

It is horrifying and also elucidating the main point, that sodomy is a worse sin than heterosexual rape -- since Abraham offers to at least not to step outside the boundaries of normal, heterosexual sexual appetite.

Indeed, other sins flow from this cardinal sin of sodomy. That is because a homosexual act is pure selfishness, -- there is no redeeming quality to it as there is no possibility of an offspring. No wonder the sodomites also turn out to suffer from "pride, excess or greed, and indifference to the poor and needy" -- they only think of their own pleasure.

Some exegetes argue that Lot knew very well that the Sodomites weren’t interested in girls, and was taunting them. You notice from the text that they become noticeably more hostile after Lot offers them his daughters.
Interesting point. And I learned a new word (exegete). Thanks. I earlier said that I wasn’t trying to be a wise guy but was trying to be a ‘wise’ guy. I came to the right place.

Why not become Wiccan? Or form their own religion?
Perhaps they believe that since God "made them this way", then He must condone such a lifestyle.
