It’s still worth a visit I think. The gardens are beautiful and the chapel and grounds would still be peaceful. There’s a memorial too in the gardens above the grotto to Baltic Christians killed by communists of the Soviet variety, perhaps more like the ones at PSU and the rest of Portland than many realize.
There was an overflowing Mass when we were there and most people, even in Portland, seem to be very respectable of the grounds and facilities. I did not see any graffiti. It has probably occurred, but must be infrequent. Our girls walked with me through the labyrinth, which is an addition since last visit, as are a couple of the prayer points. Very nice!
