What about, “Go, and sin no more”?

Exactly. God always wants his prodigal sons and daughters to return to Him. He is always ready to forgive. He loves a contrite and humble heart.

However, if the heart is not contrite, and there is no repentance for the sins committed [i.e. the sin continues unabated] .... any forgiveness is withheld, awaiting the repentance, methinks.

Go and sin no more.

Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.” ... John 8: 10-11

Doesn’t God know if they are going to sin anymore or not, or if their hearts are contrite?
