challenge question to all the rood fans out there:

if Jesus died on day four as rood claims, how does the first day of the week become the third day since He died?

Here's one back at you; what part of, "three days and three nights" do you not comprehend?

Certainly Christ used the example of Jonah (Jonah 1:17 - Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.) to emphasize that he would be in the earth "three days and three nights."

It seems to me that you have become so entrapped in false doctrine that you are unable or unwilling to see the truth no matter the amount of overwhelming evidence presented to you.

IMO it would prove fruitless to continue any further discussion with you on the matter.

“If this were not enough, we also have the testimony of Rabbi Eleazar ben Azariah from the first century who, while commenting upon Jonah 1:17 and its reference to three days and three nights, wrote that a day and a night are an Onah and the portion of an Onah is as the whole part of it (Jerusalem Talmud: Shabbath 9:3).”

i understand Jesus to mean by “ three days and three nights” what He meant me to understand by that phrase and as every Jew who heard Him say it in the 1st century understood what He meant by it - the same as three days and the same as after three days. to the Jewish mind, ANY PART OF A DAY IS THE SAME AS THE WHOLE DAY.
Is that so hard to understand?
if someone was in the grave for five minutes, to a Jew, that person was in the grave a day, and it is the same to that Jew if the person was in the grave 24 hours, IT IS ALL ONE DAY.

The folly of rood is that he insists on a literal three days and three nights and then serves up FOUR DAYS and three nights and doesn’t expect anyone to notice his playing fast and loose with the fourth day, the actual crucifixion day according to his “discovery”!!

i can understand your not wanting to face Luke 24 and it’s implications to blowing up rood’s heresy.

Christians from 33ad on have been teaching a false doctrine, whereas some guy named rood has discovered the “truth” after 2,000 years???

what does the Bible say about the end times and false prophets arising......??

maybe you can write rood or call him and share my challenge with him..........but i am sure he is on to selling more tapes and cds and won’t have time to answer someone challenging his obvious nonsense!
