Crap? You essentially agreed with me. My simple point is that you think you are right and the bible is wrong, meaning that you believe you know more than God. And again, I agree that there are millions, actually billions, who share this view. BUT THAT is the only view that you for certain share with the others you speak of. You all have no standard against which to base your views so what are the odds that many of the views will be similar. Ultimately, again, you are all your own God's. If I'm wrong please tell me where I can read about your God?

Look, believing in God doesn’t mean that one has to believe in every word of the bible as written.

The bible was written by man, and perhaps inspired by God. But, the bible has gone through many revisions through the ages, and, like the history books where people get to rewrite history, the bible itself can be revised with the beliefs of the most current writers, which makes it subject to the whims and wishes and biases, and yes, even goals of those writers.

Man invented dragons with his imagination, and it’s likely that Satan was manufactured the same way and made part of the bible. Again, we don’t need a fantasy in order to believe that there is evil and that one might get punished if one does commit evil.
