He is the father of Lies, so I think he could lie to himself....................
Why would you think God wouldn't have 'human-like characteristics'? We are made in his image. God laughs.
"The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them." Psalm 2:4
"but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for HE knows their day is coming." Psalm 37:13
Now back to only good comes from God, never evil.
Gen 1:31 "God saw all that HE had made, and behold, it was very good. It was evening and it was morning, the sixth day."
God rested on the seventh day because He was finished - and it was ALL good! God rested because He was finished, not tired. :)
Like an artist who puts down his brush, not one more stroke is needed, like a lawyer rests his case, he is finished, he is done.
We dont need a Satan to understand those simple facts. Satan is unnecessary, and I see it/him as something out of the imaginations of human beings, who needed.....
The letter is ‘I’ as in “and I see it/Him as something out of...”
Like so many, including many alleged Christians, you've become your own God by superseding God's word with your own.
Is it any wonder this world is so screwed up? There are 10 billion different God's running around certain that their opinions overrule God's.
The Bible also says that God had planned the death and resurrection of Jesus since before the foundations of the Earth were laid.
I highly doubt God was surprised by Lucifer’s attempted insurrection.
OH, cut the crap!
The word “I” could easily be substituted by “we”, meaning, many millions of people around the world having the same beliefs.
Satan is merely an excuse for the many millions, and perhaps billions of people, who need an escape goat to alleviate their guilt feelings after doing bad or evil.
Satan is a good story and with enough repetition through the eons of religious beliefs, “it/he” has been accepted as real, but, it’s unnecessary in order to believe that people are capable of doing very evil things.
Yes! Crap!!!
Look, believing in God doesn’t mean that one has to believe in every word of the bible as written.
The bible was written by man, and perhaps inspired by God. But, the bible has gone through many revisions through the ages, and, like the history books where people get to rewrite history, the bible itself can be revised with the beliefs of the most current writers, which makes it subject to the whims and wishes and biases, and yes, even goals of those writers.
Man invented dragons with his imagination, and it’s likely that Satan was manufactured the same way and made part of the bible. Again, we don’t need a fantasy in order to believe that there is evil and that one might get punished if one does commit evil.
