Dave, you tread dangerous water when you consider poltergeist type activity as Godly validation of a man's message. This type of thing is NOT common in Christian circles, but VERY common with those whose delve into the occult. I saw and heard of it much during my upbringing in mormonism. These people are people of VERY strong faith, unnaturally strong, faith in the wrong things. Satan uses this against them with little parlor tricks.

I have observed God working miracles of the heart, miracles of the courtroom, miracles of physical protection etc.

Any demon (or man for that matter) could mess with your cell phone....

Whatever this man was teaching needs to be help up against the Bible and the Bible alone. God's words do not need a "looking glass" to be read and understood by the honestly seeking. He gave us his Spirit for that.

Since he gave us the Spirit for that, why are there thousands of bible only churches, ALL SAYING THE SPIRIT is guiding them, yet they have many wildly divergent teachings on many essential christian doctrines?

Amen to that! Some people tread dangerous spiritual ground when they count on seeing "signs" to confirm whether or not something, or someone, is true. It can be extremely difficult to pry that experience away from them when what it came with is shown to be error from Scripture.

The "signs and wonders" God gifted to the early disciples were to be utilized to confirm the Gospel they were preaching. But, just as what Moses experienced when he went before Pharaoh, some things can and WILL be copied and perverted by the wrong people. That's why we have the Bible today, to give us an objective authority by which to judge truth claims. Diligent and sincere seekers of truth will not be drawn into theatrics and magic acts.

I've learned to call them coincidences or synchronicity as Carl Jung (who read Swedenborg) termed them. I've had mystical experiences for 30 years - at first I became very excited because I knew my Church were valid. I would see natural things in correspondences of the spiritual world as Swedenborg described. That would come in cycles - we are never in a static state and I would want the feeling back, so I turned to alcohol and drugs. Big mistake. The Mormon culture is very right about that. It's a dangerous mix for those with spiritual gifts. All mental illness has spiritual causes. A young friend, 28, took his own life on Thursday, I believe, because of that.

I don't petition God for an outcome and call it a miracle when my prayer is answered. I pray for spiritual enlightenment to carryout His Will with understanding - how can I be of best use?

A computer called my Android smartphone at the same instant that 'let him hear' scripture. Are you saying some evil force did that? My wife asked me what happened and I told her - it's not a big deal for us anymore. My phone does all sorts of funny things. I slow down and take notice of them for the message from my sponsor.

Did you view the video and hold it up yourself? The part with the glasses I found hilarious when Joseph Smith came to mind.

Yep, even Pharaoh's magicians were able to mimic some of the miracles that Moses and Aaron performed through God's power. They still could not "out perform" God.

They were able to turn their staffs into serpents too but we all know what happened to their serpents.
