What is it with human nature that we wait for catastrophe to strike before we formulate a plan for prevention. C’mon! They saw this coming! Sorry, I am feeling a tad cynical today.

The gravest problem faced by the Church in America is that the USCCB is a heterodox gaggle of careerists who each feel entitled to go his own way. Without unity of message the church is weak and divided and can offer only token leadership. The result is entities like Notre Dame Marquette and Georgetown becoming virtual abortion mills where the Faith is barely tolerated, much less promulgated.
