When I was very young, our family doctor lived in our neighborhood.... his house was a big stone “mansion” (to us) that had been there years before the subdivison was built. To get there, you had to walk down (what seemed like) a mile long gravel road surrounded by very tall trees. If you were brave enough to do it, you were rewarded by the doctor’s butler holding a huge silver tray loaded with FULL SIZE Hershey Bars, telling you “take as many as you want.”
Boy.... those were the days.
Happier than a witch in a broom factory, are you?
“I’m gonna stand up to her.” “No, you’re not.” “You’re right.”
So what makes you think I don’t regard Wicca as satanic?
;^)
And are you also as concerned about people celebrating Christmas (which isn’t the birth of the Saviour at all...not by date anyway. And a mass is about death not life). Or how about Easter ar you ranting about that too?
Selective outrage ceases to impress me
No.
The more Americans see islamists and evangelicals as the same mindset, the more they’ll cross over.
Good job.
There are three things you will never catch me doing on this board:
Well, you know.. the Great Pumpkin has all the hallmarks of a demon..
Conservatives aren't generally known to mount crusades against American traditions.
The kids aren't celebrating evil or rebelling against God. They're playing make-believe and getting candy.
I have a solution for you: hand out flyers pointing out the evils of Halloween, instead of candy, to the trick-or-treaters when they come to your house. I'll bet you they won't come around next year.
Are you one of those who finds evil in nursery rhymes?
Halloween seems to have increased proportionally to the degree with which we've shut God out of government and culture.
Or, to the degree the Chinese discovered ghosts and Jack-O-Lanterns and it's been commercialized!
If you don't like Halloween, fine. Don't go trick or treating!
My purpose isn't to be outraged about these things. My purpose is to show others that Jesus Christ had holy days that he asked his followers to observe. They are listed in Leviticus chapter 23. That's what Christ intended and what he intended for his followers.
One year, my grand daughter was out trick-or-treating in -20 temps (the costume she had on was thick, and she was bundled up inside it). She got handfuls of candy at each stop because of the low turnout.
To the intrepid...
every year without fail.... some variant of this thread pops up.
Happy Halloween everyone lolol
... go the teeth rotting spoils
heh
These traditions are very new in America and coincide with the liberalization and degradation of our culture and society.

Holy scripture is more important and relevant than modern traditions.

I'm not as one dimensional as you seem to think but thanks anyways...
Right. Look up images for "Halloween Costumes" on google and tell me what you see....liberal or conservative images? It's not conservative to act like liberals and hope we're liked.
I grew up in a VERY conservative Baptist Church; half of the members didn’t have TV’s, no dancing, make-up was frowned upon...you get the idea.
The youth group designed and hosted a truly fantastic haunted house each year...blood, gore, skeletons, coffins, you name it. The teenage boys had a blast scaring the tar out of everyone!
I love Adult Swim for the most part. BTW, nobody beats the Kite Eating Tree. B-)
Thanks DouglasKC. I hope your OP lifts the scales from at least one person’s eyes.
