Dem Tries to Bully Bishop Into Shutting Up

This is rich. A Catholic Democrat state Senator decides the Church is wrong on issues such as abortion, euthanasia, same-sex "marriage" and embryonic stem cell research.
Then, not only does the "Catholic" politician say the Church is wrong, but he puts it out there that it may be illegal for the Church to talk about those issues precisely because they disagree with his political stances.
The San Francisco Gate:
A Democratic state senator says a letter meant for reading at North Dakota Roman Catholic church services is intended to support Republicans.
Fargo Sen. Tim Mathern says the letter could jeopardize the church's nonprofit status.
Mathern is Catholic. He says he's asked Bismarck Bishop David Kagan to withdraw the letter. Kagan oversees North Dakota's Catholic churches.
The letter says abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage and embryonic stem cell research is "never acceptable."
It doesn't name any candidate or political party. But it says "the positions of the two political parties and the positions of their candidates are well known" on those issues.
So to be clear, this punk dissents from Church teaching and now says the Church can't talk about those teachings because he dissents from them.
Mind you, according to this lunatic, the Church can continue being the Church but they just can't talk about those little issues like life, death, and family.

This part has me a bit concerned:
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

Nope, doesn't bode well.
Strauss and Howe claim it cycles roughly every 75-80 years, plus-or-minus a decade or so.
Point yourself back 75-100 years and ask yourself if you're looking forward to repeating that.

Well, excommunicate the CINO and continue to speak out against evil, Bishop Kagan. The way for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

Maybe if Sen. Mathern were to get a personal visit from his parish priest and diocese bishop explaining what the Catholic Church's position is on members who presume to dictate to the Magesterium on issues of morality contrary to the stated dogmas, he might be persuaded to change his mind? We already know that in the last days perilous times will come and taking a stand for righteousness will become harder and harder and actually have a "cost". If more Christians were willing to stand up and, in unison, say, "bring it on", such bullies would think twice before making such dares.

The amendment to the US Tax Code to prohibit political speech from within a church was done by none other than then Senator LBJ. People mistakenly believe it’s in the Constitution. No it was simply a morally bankrupt corrupt parinoid U.S. Senator who’s bill made it law.

Thank God he did not become a priest. Would that Luther had become as lawyer as his father wished.
