This is rich. A Catholic Democrat state Senator decides the Church is wrong on issues such as abortion, euthanasia, same-sex "marriage" and embryonic stem cell research.
Then, not only does the "Catholic" politician say the Church is wrong, but he puts it out there that it may be illegal for the Church to talk about those issues precisely because they disagree with his political stances.
The San Francisco Gate:
A Democratic state senator says a letter meant for reading at North Dakota Roman Catholic church services is intended to support Republicans. So to be clear, this punk dissents from Church teaching and now says the Church can't talk about those teachings because he dissents from them.
Fargo Sen. Tim Mathern says the letter could jeopardize the church's nonprofit status.
Mathern is Catholic. He says he's asked Bismarck Bishop David Kagan to withdraw the letter. Kagan oversees North Dakota's Catholic churches.
The letter says abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage and embryonic stem cell research is "never acceptable."
It doesn't name any candidate or political party. But it says "the positions of the two political parties and the positions of their candidates are well known" on those issues.
Ping!
Yep. He’s the state senator from my district and I know him personally. Amazing that so many Catholics do not understand or even want their own religion. They’d like to negotiate and turn the Church into some sort of democracy.

Sad but true, the draft dodging, social justice commie inspired homosexual misfits infiltrated the Church in the 50-60’s and corrupted our youth.
We need to put this radical prohibition of the church saying anything that might disagree with the government to bed once and for all. I believe it to be TOTALLY ILLEGAL.
LOL!! Classic.
Isn’t this where he’s yelling, “Facebooooooood!”?
After Representative Kennedy of Rhode Island questioned why the church is vowing to fight any health care bill that does not explicitly ban the use of public money for abortions, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin of Providence fired back. Tobin called Kennedys support of abortion rights a deliberate and obstinate act of will that was unacceptable to the church and scandalous to many of our members.
In a radio interview, Tobin went on to say, If you freely choose to be a Catholic, it means you believe certain things, you do certain things. If you cannot do all of that in conscience, then you should perhaps feel free to go somewhere else.
That's awesome! I'm going to appropriate that photo for my own use!
I hate fascist pigs.
According to Catholic Culture, he's also a former seminarian.
“Mathern is catholic.”
That’s like saying a person who bathes and doesn’t want to murder me is Muslim.
Can we say excommunication is in this guys near future.
In general today this would be an oxymoron. Specifically, with this guy, there's no 'oxy', just 'moron'.
Appropriate away. :) Now I must go to YouTube to watch it! Always brings a smile to my face.
We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.
