In Steubenville in August, a 16 year old cheerleader, 4.0 GPA girl was drugged unconsious, gang raped by numerous members of the student body at a party, the rape was videotaped, photos and video posted on youtube/twitter, and tweets followed such as "how can she sleep with a wang in the butthole"? and "no foreplay needed lol" went viral and pics of the girl passed out with let's say "fluid" on her was sent to her dad saying "look at your whore daughter now" and telling him to pick her up.
This story never made the local news except a small burb in the paper until a blogger broke it and saved all the tweets etc. which are available online on her site.
Guess what? the alleged guys who particpiated are from either old/new money, local officials son's and most are honor roll students themselves etc..the two arrested out of the 5-7 boys are poor with no influential families...
A woman poster on FR who is from Steubenville saw the photos herself and said it gave her shudders.
I am the FReeper that you are referring to. The case has slowed down because special prosecutors have been called in and they essentially must restart the process. This means that if the boys’ statements change at any time they can also be charged with perjury.

That is the major problem with private schools. They have a vested interest in protecting the cash flow.
Not that public schools are much better in that respect. They will select a different group to protect more often though.
I think it’s important to note that according to Ohio news sources, this rape DID NOT occur on the FSU campus and indeed had nothing to do with FSU.
Both of the perps were students at Steubenville (PUBLIC) High School.
