This is neither new, nor news.

The church's health guide has never specifically called out caffeine. Coffee, yes; caffeine, no.

Coffee contains caffeine, and some have independently extrapolated their interpretation to apply it to caffeine soft drinks (e.g., my parents many years ago), but it was never official church doctrine.

For members in good standing, this is one of those "it is your call" types of things.

Good thing, too... gotta have my diet Pepsis now and then!

Wasn’t there a picture of Romney buying caffeine free cherry coke and regular diet coke while on vacation or something like that? But what do I care about his choice of caffeine or no caffeine— Barry admits to snorting his coke.

We have Mormon neighbors that invited us to join their church, it was nice of them but I told my husband he wouldn’t be allowed to drink coffee. I think my husband would give up body parts before giving up his coffee.
