Re: Mormons and multiple Gods - it is no secret that Mormons do not subscribe to the extra-Biblical definition of a single Trinitarian God. And while the "plan of salvation" according to Mormon doctrine suggests a infinite number of "Gods," there are only three Gods that Mormons have any dealing with in this "state of probation" as we may call our earth life. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ, our Savior) and God the Spirit (or more commonly called the Holy Ghost). Mormons consider them separate entities, that is true, and that does disagree with orthodox Christianity's definition of the Trinity in the creeds, so yes, Mormons are not orthodox Christians. But these three are the only ones considered to be "worshiped" as Gods by Mormons.

You do raise a good question about if Heavenly Mother is a God that we should worship in the same manner as the other three, and as best as I can tell the answer to that is "it hasn't been revealed to us" at this time. Who knows, maybe you are right, and the Mormon pantheon includes four worshiped Gods.

“Re: Mormons and multiple Gods - it is no secret that Mormons do not subscribe to the extra-Biblical definition of a single Trinitarian God.”

TP, The New Testament teaches that God the Father is God, Jesus Christ is God, the Holy Spirit is God. The most important passage in the Hebrew Scriptures teaches there is one God. This rules out multiple gods, as mormonism teaches.

“And while the “plan of salvation” according to Mormon doctrine suggests a infinite number of “Gods,” there are only three Gods that Mormons have any dealing with in this “state of probation” as we may call our earth life.”

And yet, this is in contradiction to the absolutely irrefutable teaching of the Bible that there is just ONE GOD. Never more.

“God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ, our Savior) and God the Spirit (or more commonly called the Holy Ghost). Mormons consider them separate entities, that is true, and that does disagree with orthodox Christianity’s definition of the Trinity in the creeds, so yes, Mormons are not orthodox Christians. But these three are the only ones considered to be “worshiped” as Gods by Mormons.”

And yet, TP, mormonism does teach they are separate gods in opposition to the clear, absolute and irrefutable teaching of the Bible. The issue isn’t whether mormonism is orthodox or non-orthodox. The issue is that mormonism is a heresy that violates what the Bible clearly speaks of. It perverts the revealed nature of God. It makes him into less than God. It makes him into an man made idol.

“You do raise a good question about if Heavenly Mother is a God that we should worship in the same manner as the other three, and as best as I can tell the answer to that is “it hasn’t been revealed to us” at this time. I can be much clearer for you TP, in love.

There is NO Heavenly Mother/s. Nor is celestial sex required. Nor does God require fellowship from any other. He is complete in Himself. He doesn’t create spirit children first. It is all heresy - completely made up and in opposition to the revealed nature of God.

If God is omnipotent, then He is more powerful than any other. The Bible teaches God is omnipotent. The second you add another god, you either invalidate the first as God, and you begin to speak of God in a way that is in opposition to the revealed Word of God, the scriptures.

There is just one God. There is no other. God, in opposition to every false polytheistic religion of the nations surrounding Israel, speaks the truth. He alone is God. There is no other. He alone has existed from all eternity - outside of time. He had neither a beginning or end. He has never had a point where He was less than fully God. Same for Jesus Christ. Same for the Holy Spirit.

I wish you the best “Tadpole”.
