everyone seemed to be more focused on the graphic image of the conference, rather than the speaker.

Well, when the bio is filled with stuff like "understand and catalyze the actions needed to navigate a quantum change to avoid global collapse" and "in the light of new capacities at the growing edge of the sciences and the psychologies" and "the Association for Global New Thought" (which actually sounds to me like something from the '30s!), it's hard to comment -- I mean, I know all the words, but put together like that, they don't seem to mean anything!

She must be akin to those feminists who consider logic something to be dismissed as a patriarchal construct! ;-)

My comment posted to Fr. Z's bog:

Barbara Marx Hubbard, in her reflections on 2012 and “New Beginnings”, projects an image of joy and happiness based on her newly discovered personal experiences. In her reflections, she makes the comment: “I don’t want to die and turn to dust”, essentially rejecting Genesis 3:19.

Her ramblings deserve a rebuttal and for that, I immediately thought of Ecclesiastes 1:10 – “Even the thing of which we say, “See, this is new!” has already existed in the ages that preceded us.” I would encourage Barbara to revisit Mark 8:35-36.

Harumph!

She'll have us know that she spent her junior year at the Sorbonne.

That's right. Say it like you would imagine the Hildabeast saying it...
