A new census of the Amish population in the United States estimates that a new Amish community is founded...about every 3 ½ weeks, and shows that more than 60 percent of all existing Amish settlements have been founded since 1990.

This pattern suggests the Amish are growing more rapidly than most other religions in the United...

"They're doubling their population about every 21 to 22 years, primarily because they produce large families and the vast majority...remain in the community as adults baptized into the faith, starting their own families and sustaining their religious beliefs"...

Sorry for not getting back to you all sooner (some people needed bikes fixed), but i agree we need not basically forsake technology, but as i understand it, the concern of the Amish is how it will affect their Christian morality, life and its community. While we may give up TV, and choose family activities over video games, they take it further. Which is challenging in an industrialized world, and a politically correct one, as seen with Chick-Fil-a.

We need use tech for God, and the body of Christ should be as manifestly different in our worship, morality, attitude, spirit and voting, etc. as the Amish are by their dress and horse and buggy, etc.

BTW, a good video on the amish schoolhouse murders. http://www.hulu.com/watch/17789/fox-news-specials-crime-scene-the-amish-schoolhouse-murders

This is bad, very bad. Amish youths seem to be responsible for most of the crime in this country. We can’t take anymore crime.

Google Amish and birth control. They might be one of the few faiths that teach that birth control within marriage is prohibited and where most of them follow the teaching. The article didn’t even mention it.

That was my thought, and using contraceptives by Christians has reduced the size of the kingdom of God, and will cost us.
