A new census of the Amish population in the United States estimates that a new Amish community is founded...about every 3 ½ weeks, and shows that more than 60 percent of all existing Amish settlements have been founded since 1990.
This pattern suggests the Amish are growing more rapidly than most other religions in the United...

Great people IMO.
It is refreshing to go past their farms and see kids outside playing in the evening, women out tending their gardens and men coming home from a hard days labor. People producing food? Minding their own businesses? it doesn’t get any better than this.
It may very well have been a family reunion.
I frequently read their newspaper The Budget. It is surprizing how often and how far these people travel.
They use the ‘taxis’ locally, but tour bus service between the Amish communities in Oh, Pa, and In, is a weekly occurance. They also take the train. Some districts, mostly New Order, allow flying.

My brother runs a bus service for the Amish. His business is booming but he doesn’t make much.
On the other hand the only people who dress like the amish and have similiar values are the ultra orthodox jews.
but for some reason, they ain’t so funny.
THAT was MY FIRST thought....the Amish are exempt from many fed and state regulations....and Obamacare....we ALL may want to join the Amish soon...
