Agreed.

I left the four-walled church about five years ago for the simple reason that "love" had been replaced by "conventions" and "rules."

The funny thing is that I was part of the leadership when I came to this realization. I actually apologized to a number of people on my way out for the errors in my thinking.

I credit Eugene Peterson for helping me to see this more clearly when I read "Christ Plays in Ten Thousand Places," which I highly recommend.

Came here to retort almost the exact same thing; ya beat me to it. I'm COMPLETELY tired of the holier than thous at church and within religion in general these days; like you sat, they need to mind their own business.
