Guess I ought to stay out of the Religion forum, eh? That’s the kind of propaganda I heard out of the public schools when I was in Leixlip. With all due respect, it’s tiresome and it’s the same kind of anti-Anglo-Saxon sentiment that the European Union is poisoned with.

Ireland is a socialist republic (though not completely free yet). Most of Europe is socialist, though Ireland managed it well in comparison (they didn’t stop reproducing to pay for it, as other European countries did, and their tax rates could still attract business and retain wealthy people).

The country that leads the European Union around by the nose is trying its utmost to coerce Ireland to raise its corporate tax rate as part of the push to harmonize taxes across the new empire. One may say all the ill things about the UK Parliament one wants, but the Irish PMs could indeed introduce legislation there and exert influence over the direction of the entire British Empire; not so in the European Unions government where the European Parliament has no legislative power and instead acts as the European Commissions rubber stamp (the appointed Commission has sole power to introduce bills
and the authority to pass themno separation of powers) . . . and Ireland surely has no politicians in the Bundestag/Bundesrat. Ireland has not been free since 1972, but the sheep seem to not have woken up to that fact yet.

Well, I suppose we Americans should thank the genocidal evils of the English anti-Catholic bigots—their callous cruelty forced a lot of great Irish to immigrate to these United States...

That was Irish on Irish cruelty. Remember that there was an Irish noble class as well. They exerted the same level of cruelty over their own no matter whether under human-sacrificing Druidism or either brand of organized Christianity. And it was their own will, too.
BTW, before the Irish named themselves and the island that the Romans called
Hibernia after the false goddess
Éire (aka Ériu, daughter of Mac Gréine or son of the sun in Englishrecognize the connection to Baal? whereas Éire was an earth goddess like Gaia), did you know that they called themselves by the name
Britani . . . ?

Irish Nobility under English rule were treasonous collaborators and shameless toadies of the British “lords” who exported food from Ireland while millions starved on the streets--considered inconvenient “speed bumps” to the gilded English carriages collecting their “rents.”
You can't beat the Irish for grievances FRiend...but really, it doesn't matter now...my ancestors owned slaves in Virginia during the 17th and 18th Centuries and I don't bear any responsibility for it at all—people of their times judged through the ignorance of detached hindsight by their progeny cannot make them rest less easily in their graves.
The UK and Israel are America's most valued friends and allies and that is what counts- old historical grudges notwithstanding.

"They exerted the same level of cruelty over their own no matter whether under human-sacrificing Druidism or either brand of organized Christianity." Ireland maintained a Celtic legal system until the arrival of the Normans in which land and title belonged to a family forever. Fealty was pledged by a family or clan to which ever of the competing lords promised them the best deal.
This changed with the arrival of the Normans. the land was titled by the crown to whomever served their immediate interests best. The Irish have never completely accepted this and this has been the crux of the dispute for over 800 years.
