Iagree with you about where Yahshua would be the most comfortable and that would be on a hillside teaching, however He did attend synagogue every Sabbath as all good Jews did. He was never acused of being a bad Jew. I believe Jesus/Yahsua is the Messiah of Israel. I believe He is the only begotten son of Elohim (God/generic name). I believe He is God and fully God, part of the Trinity.
Deuteronomy 6:4 tell us that Adonai Elohaynu is echad (one)
composite one, not yachid (one) indivisible one. Says it all.

When was the Trinity formed and how many other Gods are there?

And what’s wrong with Ts and flip flops?

A dress code is not a requirement for salvation.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Indeed it isn't.

But...The behavior I copied from the lead thread is certainly not the way to win friends, influence people, and have success in this temporal world regarless of the religion.

What? Purple hair and visible tatoos? Answering a cell phone in during a church service? Deliberately and unnecessarily wear clothing that a person **knows** will be provocative and irritating to others?

I don't see this a prescription for success. If it does happen it will be in spite of this list of behaviors, certainly not because of it.

You are speaking of success in THIS world, I frankly do not CARE about success in this world, nor to most Christians.

We are to be IN the world, not of it. God doesn’t care what we wear to church, He cares where our heart is. Our church takes all. I have seen GANG Members throw down their colors and cry at an altar call when they accepted Christ. And, yes, they did leave the gangs.

And when I was TEACHING at a private Christian High School, I had ‘vampire red’ hair. The kids loved it and related to me and listened to me more than the other teachers because they felt I understood them better.

You seem to care more about what is on the outside, than the inside and that is sad.

FTR, my best friend NEVER did drugs, I have never seen her have more than one drink an evening (and even that is rare) in the 10 years I have known her, she works 2 and sometimes 3 jobs to take care of her invalid mother, squeezes church and charity work in between those jobs and is one of the most generous people I know even BEFORE she was a Christian.

Now, she is even more so and what changed aside from her beliefs (she was an atheist), is her motivation. She now does it solely for the glory of God.

It seems to me that the people who do the following will create a lot more problems for themselves than just a conflict with their religion. Will the people who do the following have more opportunities in this **temporal** and wordly life or **fewer** opportunities? It seems to me they will get along less well in their work, with their neighbors, and family.

Those who do this have an attitude problem that extends far beyond a conflict with their family or an particular religion. These people have an **attitude**!

Get a tattoo in a well-seen location.

How will this be helpful to this person in this **temporal** world? Is it more likely that this person's life will be harder or easier? Hm?

Both men and women should have multiple piercings.

How will this be helpful to this person in this **temporal** world? Is it more likely that this person's life will be harder or easier?

Men: Grow your hair long, past your earlobes.

Is it more likely that an appropriately groomed individual will have more success of less success in this temporal world in business, his community, and with his family?

Dye your hair an unnatural color, such as blue, purple, pink or green.

Purple hair people would **never** get a job in my small business.

In a general sense how is blue, pink, green, or purple hair likely to be helpful to a person in a normal or typical job or career? Is he/she more likely to attract a stable, loving, hardworking, and responsible spouse or not?

Pop open a can of Pringles on Fast Sunday (There are Christians who do fast).

If it would be rude to noisily open a bag of candy during a community theater play, then it would be rude to do pop a can of Pringles in any church service of any kind. The smell as well would be very distracting.

Eat McDonalds in the parking lot before church. Throw the trash away in the can outside of the chapel.

Why would anyone **knowingly** unnecessarily burden another ( especially someone likely to be an unpaid volunteer) with their trash? Someone who is thoughtless and rude, I suppose.

Guess what? I attend ( full-time) a small private art school. I take my trash home because I don't want to burden the director of the school with having to deal with my Mc Donalds trash. He's got enough on his mind and enough to do.

Attend church high or hung over.

Attending anything high or hung over is not the best way to get the most out of **any** experience whether in business, community, family function, or a church service. ( As for the church service, are they doing this as means to shove a thumb in the eye of the other church attendees or are they looking for a new direction in life? This is a question of attitude?)

Let your kids play video games at church.

This is flat out bad manners and poor parenting. It is likely very distracting to the other attendees and especially to the other children in the congregation.

Church apparel, for women: Wear a sleeveless top and a mini skirt. Never wear panty hose. Wear flip flops in the summer and hooker heels in the winter.

Churches vary in their customs regarding appropriate dress. For instance, if I were to visit the Pope, I would wear a black dress and black veil. Thoughtful, polite, and courteous people will respect these customs and wear the most appropriate clothing that they own. . ( I will make an exception for those who are completely new to a church and are utterly ignorant of their customs.)

Church apparel, for all: Wear sunglasses

If I **knew** that it was customary for this particular denomination not to wear sunglasses in church, and I was visiting, I would not do this. In my church I do use sunglasses but only for reading. It is incovenient for me to bring two sets of biofocals to church. If I **knew** that this was the custom in another congregation, I would make the effort to carry both my clear and tinted biofocals. I would do this as a courtesy to their beliefs.

This is wonderful news that she has accepted Christ.

I bet that she doesn’t deliberately set out to offend others and their customs but is, instead, meek and loving to all.

Regardless of the occasion, ( business, family functions, community, or church events, and recreation) thoughtful and kind people do not deliberately dress in a manner to provoke and offend others, but make and effort to dress in the most appropriate clothing that they may own.

I have a tattoo. A banner on my calf, and a large one on my back, thinking of getting another one, neither has held me back from anything. I have three ear piercings in each ear.
Personally I like long hair on men, not so sure about bald men who grow what they have left long, however.
It is rude in the big picture to play video games in church, but I would much rather have a squirmy kids occupied than crying.
The hair color is just not an issue, my real estate agent, awards out the wazoo in my county, has pink hair.
Would it be rude to eat during service yep, but the fasting aspect has nothing to do with me - it is between them and God.
The trash thing, hey. I would rather people throw their stuff away than in the parking lot, just not an issue for me. Its nice you take it home, good for you.
Bottom line God does not see the outside only the inside, we as humans make a huge mistake looking on the outside.

Indeed, He is the best judge of **attitude**. Those with and **attitude** will ultimate stand before Him.

Well....Visible tattoos and multiple, pink hair, and visible piercings would definitely mean that someone else would get the job in my office. I am retired now. I owned and ran a health clinic and the appearance of the office staff needed to be conservative and professional.

But...Hey! If in your field, it is helpful, go for it, but by making a decision to permanently mark your body it does mean fewer opportunities in my field of work.

Who said anything about throwing trash in the parking lot? Not me. It isn't even mentioned in the article. What is this, a strawman of your creation?

No, the trash was just a reference to - I would rather have them use the church trash can than throw it in the parking lot, so it didn’t bother me if they used the church can.
Tattoos and dress codes are different. If your business has a dress code, then they have a dress code - either I abide by it or don’t get the job.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Squirmy isn’t so bad. In time, and with maturity, children do learn to sit quietly. Learning to do this in the preschool years in the loving atmosphere of family and church friends, pays off handsomely when the child can sit still in school where electronic entertainment is prohibited. But...Hey! Parenting styles and philosophies vary. Most kids grow up to be OK ( thankfully).

Crying children are best removed and quieted in the “cry room” that many churches provide, or the foyer, hallway, or classroom.

The Trinity is the great I AM. Always was, always is and always will be. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are ONE/Echad. There is only ONE/Echad Elohim. Yahweh.

I must conclude that unless you have different definitions of words like "always" that you are NOT a Mormon.

Joseph Smith taught that God was once a man and was later exalted to become a God. You don't believe that nonsense, do you?

How's the weather on Kolob?

No, no, definitely not a Mormon. I was at one time an Evangelical/fundamentalist Christian but after studying the Hebrew Roots of our Faith for the last 22 years I now identify myself as a Messianic Israelite. I take literally Galatians 3:29 “that if ye be in Christ Jesus, ye are Abraham’s seed (sperm)” It’s a long story...

The Hebrew Roots movement does have some offshoots that have reduced Christ from being God. Others have retained full Trinitarian Christology. I have a special interest in the movement because I was around when Jews for Jesus was getting going strong in the Chicago area. I was a student at Moody Bible Institute at the time, doing Jewish Studies as my major, with Lewis Goldberg, ex-rabbi as one of my teachers. I also was hanging around some of the early Messianic Jewish congregations.

And yes, I know there’s a difference between that and Hebrew Roots et al.

One of the most dramatic differences is the revived British Israelism. No, Hebrew Roots is not identical to Armstrong’s Worldwide Church of God. But the British Israelism is a definitely a rerun. And of course I’ve always had a weak spot for it myself, being of Scottish descent. In fact, the Armstrongs were probably near neighbors of my old clan. We probably stole their cattle fairly regularly. But I digress. But it could explain why I like burgers so much.

Anyway, if you go down that path, you can end up in some very strange places. The British-Israel narrative reads something like a cross between Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the DaVinci Code, and Exodus. Which would actually be kind of a fun creative writing project, if I could somehow work in Scottish independence and the Davidic bloodline.

But really it’s all too chaotic for me. Color me boring Baptist. I suppose my main claim to Scottish heritage is my bulldog commitment to reformed theology. Never try to separate a Scot from his Bible.
