His ‘pair’ didn’t last long.
He took a looooooooooong drink of cold, fresh water, scarfed down his thawed rat with gusto, curled up in his hide and went to sleep.
Considering the sorry state of the field mouse, I’m gonna guess his “hunting skills” are pretty pitiful.
The mouse was dead, yes, but it was grabbed in the middle, mangled and not at all what you’d see done by a “pro” snake.
Now I have to wait for him to potty so I can find out if he got worms from the wild mice.
[but by the looks of him, *that* one may have been the only mouse he’d been able to actually catch, all this time..he’s lost weight]
