When these secular Christians come from protestant backgrounds they tend to lose their denominational identity. However, when they come from a Catholic background, they cling to that identification.

It’s tempting to create your own religion, if you love some ideology or sin more than the Truth.
You must remember that some “cultural Catholics” (I am one), are very conservative and want to see the Church return to its pre-Vatican II “values.” Cultural Catholics can go two ways - conservative or left-wing. I’m in the conservative camp.
