But you ignore the fact many remains of many more ancient wrecks continue to exist, even if vaguely.

The only problem here is, having these items doesn’t mean they came from “battle”, or being flooded. Obviously they could be debris from various wrecks or jettison events.

The oldest shipsreck in the Mediterranean is from about the same time - 1400 B.C. the Late Bronze Age. All that survived were ceramic jars, large copper ingots, gold amulets, some gold rings (but not The One Ring) and a few swords. The wood was long gone. The wreck was quite deep as the divers could only work 20 minutes at a time.

This guy from England is finding 3400 year old chariot wheels in a few feet of water. Come on now.
