Ecclesiastes 10:8 - if a serpent bites before being charmed, there is no profit for the charmer - trumped Mark 16:9-20 (which may not even be genuine as far as the biblical text is concerned - there is doubt). Too many of God’s people have a hard time understanding that not every verse is for them. This was truly tragic, and will have a negative impact on his followers as well.
So many of these people seem to be almost in bondage to this sort of thing. It seems like in a way that they’re locked into and pressured by their peers and spiritual authorities into something that doesn’t serve them or the Lord all that well. - “Decently and in order” is a good rule of thumb. Of course, I’m not the judge - Christ is - and for that I’m thankful.
