As Trayvon Martin's mother stood at the altar of Baltimore's Empowerment Temple on Sunday, the Rev. Jamal-Harrison Bryant asked for anyone whose child had also been the victim of "senseless violence" to come forward.
At least a dozen women and men assembled at Sybrina Fulton's feet before she stepped down to grab one of them. She squeezed the woman, patted her back and whispered in her ear. Then Fulton moved down the line, tightly embracing each mother, grandmother and father, each of them too familiar with loss, until she'd touched them all.
Congregants erupted into deafening applause and brushed away tears.
"If it was your child you would not want it swept under the rug," Bryant said, his voice booming through the sound system. "Cheer for them like their child's memory will not be in vain."
Earlier Fulton told the congregation that she was visiting the mega-church to see some of the thousands who have stood with her family to demand justice for her son, who was fatally shot in Florida this winter. Thousands nationwide have rallied to the cause.
Few supporters have been more forceful or more present than the church's pastor, Bryant, who has been at Fulton's side since shortly after Martin's death....

This article makes me want to vomit. Despicable exploitation of the grief of those who lost “innocent” “children”, when Trayvon was neither.

Wasn't Balto a dog?
I hope she didn't grill him up for Obama.
God Bless Trayvon’s family. Clearly they are grieving and going to church is giving them some sense of peace. Everyone grieves a different way. I know you normally know this but for some reason you forgot.
It’s interesting to contrast the pictures of Trayvon. So many media outlets still use the picture of 13 year old Trayvon, not the menacing gold tooth gang banger type 17 year old Trayvon. Why do they do this? Why use an old photo of someone, not a recent photo? It couldn’t have to do with wanting to make us think he was still an innocent looking 13 year old boy could it???????
What a load. But hey! Your 15 minutes only comes around once. Ya gotta squeeze all you can out of them.
Grieving is one thing. However, the mother seems to have other motives as well. All of this publicity also serves to needlessly enrage the Black community and she may be wittingly or unwittingly helping to stir up the next race riot, violence and more ‘tragic’ deaths.
Geez, a dozen little angels were senslessly murdered? All from just one black church?
What is an “Empowerment Temple”? What god do they worship?
I visited the site, and got a few come-on sermons from the minister, but still can’t make it out. Evidently a cross between black empowerment and . . . technology?
Getting applauded for a son’s death is kind of creepy.
Maybe they should ask anyone whose child has been a perpetrator of “senseless violence” to come forward.
I really don’t expect this failure of a mother to ever accpt the fact that her adult son acted stupidly and died from that stupidity.
Frankly, her failure as a parent to raise him correctly led to his death. His father’s failure to raise him properly, led to his death.
They are surely more responsible for the death of their son than is Zimmerman.
Cindy Sheehan - Now in Black.
Tom Wolf was prescient in Bonefire of Vanities, only here in Florida... Of course he was not unawares of how black victimhood has been used in NYC to promote antisemitism as early as after the Jewish supported Black Civil Rights movement empowered them...
Empowerment is a socialist feminazi communist thug nazi kind of thing. It’s really communist in that it promotes lies, and Nazi in that it hopes for a Hitler actor.

look at this most recent photo of him as a hood. the story is just too delicious for them to give up. it hits all the right buttons and says all the right things. too bad it isn’t true, that’s all.
Dangerous hysterical thoughts and agitations are enveloping America these days.
Yet the Tparty is being demonized for daring protecting people’s true freedom and harassment from government in peaceful and truthful ways...
That probably is not a coincidence...
Ah, that’s true. I completely forgot Cindy started her meme after crapping on her own son’s grave by saying he died in vain.
