Asking our few remaining Mormons to defend their faith from actual serious inquiry...

You kill me LOL....

That’s awesome...

LDS/Mormonism is not completely logical. Neither is Judaism or any form of Christianity, neither is Islam.

The Buddha said “The things of G-d are unknown, and unknowable, so why argue?”

Pretending to reason when discussing religion is an interesting conceit, but that is all. Making fun of someone else’s religion by asserting that it is not logical is dishonest.

Believe what you want. Don’t pretend to be an honest and rational party unless you discuss your own religion with that same standard.

"Eloheim=plurality"

The plurality of God is speaking of the God-head. Let us make man in our image. God has set up spiritual laws for man that He also must adhere to. By that I mean God has established that in the mouth or tow or more a fact is established one can not bring charges against another without a second witness. So it is the same of God and the HS and Christ. Three witnesses inside the God-head proclaiming one another. In Genesis's it says that God spoke and everything came into being the HS brooded over the waters and in the NT it says that in Him and by Him all things were created by Christ Jesus. One and the same three yet one.

I know...they cannot defend the indefensible. Sigh. One of my 20+ year LDS friends and I just went through a ‘breakup’ because I told her the truth and she didn’t like it.

That is exactly what I did, which is how I ended up leaving Mormonism and becoming a Christian.

Restornu. Remember her? She sent out a lot of pings to the list and you were on her list.

I don't remember how I ended up on her list, but that's okay.

Now why aren’t any of you Mormon defenders actually DEFENDING THE ARTICLE??!?!

I'm not a defender or an attacker of Mormons.
(They've never bothered me-unlike the Jehovah's witnesses that come to my door-or the muslems who want to treat me like livestock)

Meanwhile back at the Whitehouse...The chant is getting stronger...
GET OUT OF ROMNEYS HOUSE!...GET OUT OF ROMNEYS HOUSE! LOL!

> Finally, are you here to convince everybody that Mitt Romney is “just a normal Christian”?

Quite the opposite. As a Christian, I am very concerned with the sharply rising attacks on orthodox Christianity being perpetuated by Mormon apologists online and in the media.

I apologize, then, for assuming your newly added screen name and post with no contrary comments meant you were the new LDS brigade captain shilling for Mittens. :o)

I am amazed that the RNC elite somehow believe that Romney will escape the criticism his choice of religion will bring in the general election. Somehow, they must think it is just not an important issue for most of the electorate, after all, they voted in Obama. Sure he claimed he WAS a Christian and he had a record of attending a Christian (so-called) church for decades and, even with doubts, 51% of the voters bought it and voted for him. I seriously doubt he would have enjoyed that level of support if he made his Muslim leanings known, but, who knows, maybe the other hype was too deep to matter on that point.

Now we have him going against a man whose religious leanings are NOT secret in the least but the more people find out about just how wacky they are, the more he will repel them. What a perfect opponent for Obama! The ONLY silver lining in this may be that Mormonism will face the exposure it needs so that others can be warned away from this cult. The storm of the century this cloud brings will be four more years of the narsissist-in-chief as he attempts to pull a Chavez on the USA. God help us!!!

I haven’t followed the Christian faith for some time, but that doesn’t mean I don’t believe in a higher power. As for angels, I have the same view on ghosts. When I see it for myself, I’ll believe in it. I would imagine there’s no easy way for this to be explained or understood.

I understand what you are saying. You refuse to believe in something you cannot see, right? Do you believe you have a brain? Sure, you assume you must because you exhibit all the attributes of one who has a brain, but since you cannot EVER see it, do you still believe you have one?

The reason I ask is many people say the same thing yet Jesus proved to some of those same people that they did not know themselves as well as they thought they did. He performed miracles right before their very eyes - and they would not believe he was who he said he was. He rose again from being dead and buried and hundreds of people SAW him afterward, but the rumor that the disciples stole his body is still given as an explanation for what happened to him. We Christians just marked the remembrance of that very day, when his followers went to the Roman soldier guarded tomb, and he was GONE. If they had really stolen his body, would they have gone on to martyrdom for his cause? Would you die for what you knew was a lie?

There are other theories men have thought up over what happened to Jesus, some are explained and answered here.

If we are honest, we should admit that there are LOTS of things we believe in that we do not physically see. I have faced the doubt questions and come out on the side that what the Bible says is truth and I can trust in who it tells me about as he has proven himself to me countless times. For most people it is, "I'll believe it when I see it." God's way is, "You'll see it when you believe it.". God bless you as you search for Him for He is a rewarder of those who diligently and earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

That was metaphorical, but I won’t bother answering it.

in A 'jesus'.

Read their stuff. The 'jesus' they describe is NOT found in the bible.

Trusting in a FALSE jesus will get a person a FALSE salvation.

And unlike a lot of scientists, I don’t believe the planet has to be like ours to sustain life.

Believe what you wish; but LIFE has ONLY been found here.

My sister and I have been praying a novena for our sons.

Trust the Scriptures...

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

(It DOESN'T say they won't wander off for a while!)

I am with you on this Elsie, struggling with a teenager who is questioning, rejecting the faith at present.

Questions are good; apathy not so good.

What kind of humans would WE be if we did NOT ask questions?
