You most certainly didn’t read my second. I’ll try it again, since it’s the shorter of the two:

Just to clarify a point. While I am fully and totally convinced you misunderstood my post, I do have a question. It is my original question: namely, what did you *think* was I was saying??? I sincerely have no idea what you imagine I said. I am very, very curious, though. I don’t want to start a big argument or anything else; I just wish you’d tell me what point you [erroneously, obviously] believe I was making.
