I believe that Christ could have been born from any woman of the House of David with the same result.

Mary was ‘special’ only in her correct lineage fulfilling prophecy. Mary was not sinless; she was very human, and had at least seven children, as witnessed by God’s word. (Catholic ‘tradition’ be returned to the pit of hell from which it arose)
