I agree with your second point, but it’s not really blasphemy as Mary is only human.

But, yeah, stories are going to be coming out of the woodwork on Romney will come out of the woodwork.

I understand where you are coming from, but I would consider it blasphemy for this reason:

Mary is no ordinary human. She may not be God, but she is nevertheless the Mother of God in that it is from her flesh that God took His humanity. Moreover, Mary is the first Christian in that she is the first human to receive and accept Christ. Therefore, by attacking Mary one also attacks (at least indirectly) Our Lord Jesus Christ. For one is saying that Christ either failed to provide His mother with the necessary means for her salvation, or one is saying that the means provided to Mary by Jesus were insufficient.

It's pretty arrogant, though. The LDS think the true church disappeared after the death of the last apostle. Do they seriously think that Mary, of all people, wasn't already baptized by then?

This sort of thing only makes sense if the LDS really believe that the true church never existed on earth until Joseph Smith.

They also baptized, endowed, and sealed (married) Jesus Christ to several women.

Which is interesting since Mormon leaders have taught that the temple rites they perform are the SAME rites that existed in the Temple of Solomon. So why wouldn’t Jesus have had his ‘saving ordinances’ while he was still alive?

See my tagline if you are wonder where I stand on this issue.
