Barista......just who came up with that, anyway? Let’s be brutally honest; they’re jumped-up soda jerks. Apart from the awfulness of the coffee, this is another reason I never patronize Starbucks. They are just too pretentious.

It’s derived from the Italian word for “bartender”.... my little joke with one of my favorite baristas is that it’s Italian for “coffee wench”. :)
