I think you've got it bass-ackwards, your Eminence.

Fear of Islam is due to becoming more familiar with its teachings and its violent, expansionist history.

Ambivalence or even affection towards Islam are due to ignorance.

The Cardinal pontificates: "If you speak to right-wing groups, you realize they have never opened a Koran and never met a Muslim, blah, blah, blah....."

From asssessing the IQs of left-wingers on TV and whom I have met, I can safely say that most left-wingers have never opened a Koran nor have never met a Muslim, either.

According to the good Cardinal, the neanderthals in the left-wing groups like Acorn, the Wall Street Occupiers, the union-thugs leaders, the perpetual welfare class, the nitwit academics, the professional pundit poobahs and the Obama cultists are the true intelligencia that "gets it" about Islam...... while those on the Right are bigoted know-nothings who are not as sophisticated and informed as the Left.

This Prince of the Church needs some serious prayers as he seems to morph into a frog at times.

I have a question for the Cardinal.

Were Muhammad’s visions, that led to the koran, miracles certified by the Church?

If not why not? (There are only a few options, such as - they were not supernatural, or they were supernatural, but not from God, or his angels and saints.)

None of the choices bode well for Islam being a true religion based on the Jewish and Christian God.

Vatican 2 teaches heresy about Islam.

"(126) But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Mohammedans, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind. - >> From Vatican 2 document "Lumen Gentium""

Man this douche bag should only be allowed to speak in a vomitorium.

His ignorance of REAL WORLD mudslimes is galactic.

World governments have allowed this cancer on humanity to spread like a pandemic. Eventually it will come down to ordinary citizens doing what government should have done. Mosques need to be treated like WMD factories.

You do not let rabid dogs reproduce and these 6th century sand monkeys with delusions of getting oral sex from dromedary lips, are much worse than rabid dogs.

Cardinal Tauran has nothing to worry about — here in America we give these murderous cultists full constitutional protection.

Methinks this Cardinal could use a long Fireside Chat with Rep. Allen West.

It's right there in front of your eyes.

“you realize that they have never opened a Qur’an and never met a Muslim.,” “

He is the one speaking from ignorance. We’ve met the mooselimbs and we’ve read the child-molesting, murdering, pedophile’s bat-cave writings from Mad Mo. We KNOW what lunatics they are.

His Eminence need only ask a fellow Catholic (a Melkite Catholic cleric, to be specific) about the true nature of Islam. He also happens to be Robert Spencer. If doesn't go that route, he only needs to talk to some lay folk from Nigeria, the Middle East, or the Philippines, not all of whom are "right wing."

Do Catholics and Muslims Worship the Same God?

PS - My Dad and his siblings are Catholics from the southern Philippines. Their political views vary, but they all agree that they don't like Islam.

Another reason why as a Catholic I despise the Vatican.

"I think you've got it bass-ackwards, your Eminence."

Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran is the President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. He is adhering to a policy set forth by the Vatican to respectfully study and build relationships of respect and trust with people of all religions.

(CHRISTIAN WITNESS IN A MULTI-RELIGIOUS WORLD: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CONDUCT)

How much dialog would there be if he refused to turn the other cheek? Jesus didn't die only for the saved.
