In the liberal mindset, no lie is a sin if it achieves the “greater good” a/k/a their taking over of an institution.

Did they used to say to you things along the lines of “ordaining women will never lead to ordination of homosexuals and church endorsement of homosexual and pre-marital sexual behavior”?
The Reformed Episcopal Church I believe is supposed to be orthodox and solid-

They evangelicals, in particular, used to say that ordination of women would not lead to further innovation. They were slitting their own throats, but they didn’t understand that they were. When gay ordination quickly followed they continued to deny the obvious. Now they’ve been thrown out of The Episcopagan Church or have left to found new churches outside Episcopaganism.
