no humor tag at all....you chose a minute part of my small example to comment on. The undergroung economy in this country is probably close to the size of the actual economy.People are very constructive when it comes to making a buck!!
Sell corn in a roadside stand, salvage metal etc that you pick up free, run a little handyman business after work, fix your friends and neighbors cars after you leave the dealership, fill in as a part time bartender for a few "under the table" bucks, babysit, mow lawns, sell some art, do ironing or mending, sell drugs, sell sex, recieve and sell stolen property, embezzle funds from employer or group, the list of undercover money making escapades is endless and the one thing that all these MILLIONS of people have in common is.....they pay no taxes, and they spend all their money.
A national sales tax would wipe out what is left of our economy. It would make most professional service oriented small businesses un-viable, and result in the loss of millions of jobs.
