Just as not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven, not everyone who claims to be Catholic is of the Church or of God.
So, the “Infallible Pope” who was the head of the “One True Church”, was not really a part of the Church? This whole episode and its cover-up is ok with you, based on one statement? How could the Vicar of Christ, who is infallible, get a pass on this one? Can you understand how people could be very critical of the Catholic church, and thereby repulsed by the teachings that they are the only one, when in order to be a believer of this doctrine, they have to turn a blind eye to these actions? They just poo-poo this whole event? That, my friend, is very sad.
