I'd like to follow this train of thought. I wonder if it is a legal, tax question or if there are political decisions involved, i.e., if the law and steps are, yet again, "at the direction and discretion of the Sec. of HHS.." etc.
I wish someone qualified would do a step-by-step of what disobedience by Catholic orgs would look like.
You hit the main part, or at least the one to me that was most alarming. Why didn’t the Republicans just shut down the House rather than accept the amount of authority that the act gives the Secretary. It is scary and on top of that, the Secretary is a scary person. Like the President she is a cold, calculating zealot; unlike him, she doesn’t wear the happy mask.
