This is a fundamental moral issue. Sadly, the far left thinks we have a “Living Constitution” that means whatever they want. Even more sadly, they will probably be among the first victims when the next petty tyrant decides that our Constitution doesn’t protect their fundamental rights any more than it protects Catholics and Baptists.
It’s even sadder than that. The Left has deprived us of the ability to distinguish right from wrong, accidents from essentials, and formal education from knowledge. When academia sided with antiwar protesters, feminists, and others in the 60s, they diluted higher education with nonsense, eliminating graduation requirements in any branch of philosophy. The result has been an unchecked ignorance of the history of man’s thought and behavior and the utter inability of reasonable men to contest the conclusions of those who aren’t. We’re at the mercy of a ruling class that never uses or needs to resort to simple logic or universal ethics, never mind (look around!) any sense at all of even the most basic aesthetics.
