If it wasn’t for converts and reverts a Kennedy might have become pope.

i love conversion stories.....i recall when the Surprised By Truth, by Patrick Madrid, came out, i read it cover to cover many times....and was amazed at how many protestants end up seeing the same problems with their former faith....

i also recall reading, or hearing about how there was going to be counter-books showing the conversions to protestantism from catholicism.....and that would show those darn catholics....nvr saw anything more of that....not sure if they ever got published, or if they did, anyone actually bought one....

and certainly, they had nothing close to the effect Patrick’s book did.

So now, i guess our separated brethern can call this former minister a loser, who simply doesnt get the bible, etc, etc...shame...

All these words about a supposed conversion and yet not one mention of “Jesus”.

This tells me all I need to know.

Having been born into Catholicism and with 16 years of Catholic education, I went away from practicing my Faith in my early 20s.

The birth of our first child forced my wife and me to think about life without Faith and we decided that we needed to get back to practicing our religion or give it up, and we couldn't face life {or death} without Faith.

I know you can't force people to believe, but I really feel sorry for folks that reject God.

Sounds to me like this fellow was so scared of our sinful society that he chose to run and hide rather than seek srength from Lord to fight the good fight.

To each his own.

"It is, as I told my wife one day, “the real deal”"

Wow. That is an exact quote from the conversation Mrs. Reo and I had just before plunging into the waters of the Tiber 18 years ago. And we, too, are "amazed at God’s kindness to (us) that (we) get to be Catholic."

Standing on the banks of the Tiber contemplating a swim? Come on in, the water's fine!

First of all, it’s very long, detailed, and replete with Bible references and quotations from the Church Fathers (see Rule #3).

Where's Rule #3?
