He must be discreet of course, but he has little to worry about because a deal has been made just to let him go, A Catholic priest, by contrast, remains a clerk within the Church until he is formally removed. Hence it is possible to trance his history if prosecutors can gain access to the books. With most Protestant churches, the record will have been purged, as part of the deal.
