Wow. A prophet in the truest sense of the word. This is what the Church needs; real men unafraid to speak forthrightly, candidly and directly. To address the causes of evil which look surprisingly benign.

For thirty years the Catholic bishops of the United States have trivialized their moral authority by wasting their teaching authority within the Church by embracing every liberal social initiative that came along, from expressing concern for migrants and refugees to lecturing the government on the plight of illegal aliensBears repeating. I have said for years that the only policy difference between the Catholic Bishops and the liberal wing of the democrats was on abortion and contraception.

I was thinking that maybe it was just the opposite.
That is, when confronted with an undeniable attack on their faith, the Catholics would unite to against the attack. Even the strayed and cafeteria types who still call themselves Catholics but are not active would see this as a chance to renew their faith.

Too much attribution of motive. I gave up halfway.
Regardless, whether or not it’s “too late,” we have to fight with whatever we have. As Mother Teresa said, we’re not guaranteed success.

Beautifully written and totally correct.
I hope Rev. J. Michael Venditti doesn’t get into too much trouble with his own Bishop for writing it.

” The repression of their psycho-sexual development exploded in a flurry of improper and horrific abuses of young boys;”
Not buying this bit of the article. The latter groups psycho-sexual “repression” wasn’t any different than the former groups “repression”. Don’t think the former group called it repression. Jesus didn’t.
