“I know practicing Catholics who go to church every chance they get, certainly more than once a week, who still vote Dem because the “democrats are for the poor”, and “I’m as prop-life as anybody but the government doesn’t have the right to tell people what to do with their bodies.” and “I like obamacare”.

Anecdotal evidence is not set in stone, but in real life, I’ve only met a handful of practicing Catholics who are conservative. My personal encounters verify those stats.”

LOL. Your anecdotal evidence is no more set in stone than mine. I won’t argue with your personal experience; by the same token, you can’t argue with mine which supports my statement. :)

Limit those being polled to PRACTICING Catholics (and exclude Catholics-in-name-only who may darken the door of a church on Easter and Christmas and/or don’t know the Scriptures and the CCC from the phone book) and I suspect you’d get a radically different result.

I'm not debating your personal experience. However, those whom you suggest polling would include those who I referred to, because those whom I'm quoting would fit in the criteria for your poll.

They DO attend weekly and more as work or health allows. They do know the CCC and some I know for a fact are better versed in Scripture than some of the FRoman Catholics on board here.

Based on real life encounters with practicing Catholics, who attend weekly, know the CCC and Scripture, I suspect the results would not likely be as radically different as you expect.
