Your opinion of how rulers obtain or remain in power is stilted to the extreme, making God responsible for all of them in every case, taking His non-intervention to mean He is actively placing or approving every ruler over any people anywhere. Your perspective is juvenile, but understandable. What you need to grow in Grace and knoeledge to understand is that you will continue to be a sinner so long as you are alive. God does not approve of you continuing to be a sinner, as if He is responsible because He didn’t stop you from ever sinning again. The Catholic Church has a long and colorful History of discussion on permissive will which might help to inform you.
I don’t want Romney and am doing everything I can to defeat him. But, if he gets the nomination, I don’t feel I’d be sacrificing my values to vote against Obama. No matter who our nominee is, this election has to be about defeating Obama or we won’t need to worry about another election.
By the way, I don’t feel I could actually vote FOR any of the current crop. Really wish Sarah would have run.

God is not responsible for evil. Evil has consequences, however.

What the poster was revealing is an attitude which makes God responsible for the bad things which come upon peoples. That is a very immature perspective, or naive, or purposely deceptive, or ‘under the influence of cult programming’. God CAN direct the ruler of any people, but that is not the same as God does direct the heart of every leader.
I look at how close the 2000 election was and really took notice -- did the Lord have a hand in that so we would pay attention? I think so. 2004, the same. I think by 2008, none of us cared for McCain, so Obama won. He is not led by the Lord, IMO. 2010 was a Tea Party Revival.
Mitt doesn't have conservative support. If he does win the nomination, I hope we don't repeat 2008.
When people think that they are descended from slime and their descendants are bacteria and on up to monkey type creatures and are not made in the image of God anything goes. God then gives them up to the lusts of their darkened hearts.
To all who do believe in and promote the ridiculous, Godless idea of the chance coming together of elements into life which advanced itself all the way up to human kind, these people need to realize that they and that belief are responsible for the taking of America into the trash heap of immorality and debauchery.

The LORD knows what He is accomplishing in history. He is bringing everything to culmination and soon He will usher in His Kingdom. All things revolve around The LORD and His will. He is in control, but do we have enough faith to understand and believe that He is the important One with whom we have to do. He is the One who can turn and controls history. He is all powerful.
Yes, we would all do well to fall on our knees repenting and pray for mercy on us and our children. He would have not have destroyed Sodom if there had been ten righteous there because Abraham had interceded for it. Unfortunately ten righteous were not found there and it was disintegrated into ashes. If this Country contains enough righteous people who are willing to fall on our faces and ask The LORD for mercy He will let mercy fall.
Are there believing people who are willing to call out to God for forgiveness and mercy in our Country? I hope so.
