Hi NY-

I was just reading this on a catholic blog. I have read three books on St Padre Pio. It never ceases to amaze me about anything from this man's life.

I believe I have encountered angels unawares and aware of something supernatural after the fact at times.

I remember discussing how we entertain angels to a friend. He did not believe. He was Catholic church goer. I told him sometimes we help people and then they can be angels. Well he was emphaticly not agreeing. Well while this was being discussed the doorbell rang. I open the door. There is a disheveled man. He tells me he is down on his luck. He has not eaten. So I make sandwhiches and milk drink for him. I gave him some money. He then left. My friend is there the whole time. He was amazed. It never happen like that before or since. He now is more devout in Christ.

I also since praying heavily The Divine Mercy Prayers experienced small and enduring miracles. Of course they are not small but what can I express but little moments of time.

On my former overnight delivery career I have encountered people asking for money. After giving them money. I would have the scanner beep or look at a sound from traffic. It would be a quick look. Then I would look back at person. Now this was not even mere seconds but quick. They would be gone. "Give and it shall be given to you. " Once the car the person came out of was gone too.

Also one night I could not sleep but a national prayer vigil for the nation was to be on tv in the morning. I just read about Padre Pio asking his angel this night. Well I asked my angel to wake me up for this important prayers for the nation if I would sleep late. Well I woke up to the sound of loud knocking on the bathroom wall side of my bedroom. I jumped up momentarily forget about the pray( beseech ing to the angel) . I went all over the house nobody in it. Then I remembered. I prayered an hour with that event. It was beautiful!!

He is real my brothers and sisters!!!

Blessed be the Lord thou God!!

Praise Jesus Indeed!!!! Amen equals So Be It!!!

Thank you, JG, for your testimony. As you so well noted, angels are all around us but oftentimes, we are blinded to their presence. Like you, I have also found myself in similar circumstances where the opportunity to help a stranger at the door, presents itself. I still recall one particularly cold, winter morning when the opportunity to assist a stranger came but I did not respond. I had just left my home and turned onto a well traveled road. The outside temperature was nearing zero. There was a person walking down the road, carrying a large bag. My instinct was to offer them shelter in a warm car and drive them to their destination. However, being a woman and residing in a state where we are constantly reminded to be wary of strangers, and, out of fear for being late to work, I drove by the stranger. In a matter of moments, I recognized the bad decision but it was now too late to turn around and return. That moment has haunted me ever since.

On the other hand, I know several individuals who have called on their guardian angels, myself included, when in a quandary. I especially recall a blizzard on Christmas day. My daughter, then in her teens, went outside to play with one of her friends. As the storm escalated, I opened the front door to caution them but they were no where in sight. Frightened, I jumped in my car and set off to find my daughter. The snow was falling heavily and the roads were unplowed. To compound matters, it was growing dark. As I turned onto the main road, the car wheels spun but lost their grip in the deep snow. The car would not move forward or backward. I was stuck. Bewildered and panicked, I pleaded with my guardian angel for assistance. Within minutes, I noticed headlights descending the hill towards my car. It was a plow! Amazingly, there were no cars behind it. Once the plow passed, I maneuvered the car onto the paved path, driving up hill on the wrong side of the road. Still unable to locate my daughter, I decided to go home, hoping she had already returned. Darkness had now fallen as I managed to turn the car around and drive back down the paved side of the street. Strangely enough, the plow never turned around to plow the other side. Pulling into the street where we reside, the wheels spun as the car fishtailed through deep snow back to the house. My daughter was still not home. Once again, I called upon my guardian angel praying for the safe return of my daughter. Tears froze on my cheeks as I tried to shovel a path up the driveway. Suddenly, through the rapidly falling snow, I noticed the outline of someone walking down the block. It was my daughter!

Since then, I have sent my guardian angel on missions of mercy, asking him to assist someone else. I have also entrusted to my guardian angel, the list of all those people who have asked for my prayers. That has enabled me to assign one decade of the rosary each night to "those on my prayer list".

When life brings us down, our guardian angels can lift us up. They pray for us before the Lord. What a beautiful gift is our guardian angel.
