Says who?

since Catholics are a liberal voting block, and even the Catholics who vote Republican are soft conservatives, we have to assume that it has something to do with being Catholic, something that Catholic culture and teachings is creating among Catholics.

No, it's quite asinine to think that Catholicism causes Catholic voters to become more liberal, since weekly Mass attending Catholics are more conservative than non-practicing Catholics.

The more likely reason is that Catholics settled more in northeastern and midwestern urban areas, which are bastions of liberalism.

If I liked the way Catholics vote, I guess I would be bending over backwards to prevent any question of it, but I don’t like the way Catholics vote, and I am disappointed to see how soft even the right side of the Catholic vote is.
