There is only ONE true Church
Bible | 33-90 AD | God Christ Jesus Apostle Paul

Posted on 01/14/2012 8:23:15 PM PST by bibletruth

In the present dispensation there is only ONE true Church, which is called the Body of Christ separate and distinct from the prophesied, earthly kingdom of Christ vested in redeemed National Israel as a called-out nation or church, assembly or congregation, above all other nations.

Go back and recant the heresies implicit in what has been labeled the seven sacraments before adversarially accusing others.

The Sacraments have been given to us by Jesus. The only heresy is in renouncing them.

The Reformation began with Catholic priests who identified the heresy implicit in the RCC dogmas.

The Reformation succeeded because individual men gained much according to their individual wishes. Luther's wealth and Calvin's power are examples.

The Church though was much broader than Roman Catholicism at least since the 7th century. Proof positive the RCC was not the single arbiter of His Will.

Since the Catholic Church never claimed it, I will agree with you.

Never did Jesus Christ command we confess our sins to a priest rather than to the Father through faith in Christ.

The act called a sacrament of confession to a RCC priest “confessor” in the RCC is heresy.

The RCC condemns anybody who disagrees with her. Since she fails to respect the acts of God the Holy Spirit independent of her, she condemns herself.

Then why did Christ use two different words for his “rocks?”

Doesn’t that even seem strange to you?

Be honest with yourself!

I have two full semesters of Biblical Greek at the Graduate / masters level, (Not bragging, just showing my bona fides)

Nouns can have case: Nominative, genitive, dative, and accusative. The can have number either singular or plural, and they can have gender, either masculine, feminine, or neuter.

Most masculine nouns (men's names etc.) have masculine articles (o) feminine have feminine (n) and neuter have neuter(to)

Much of the use depends on where it is in a sentence and who is using it not how they are using it.

Also keep ion mind as I said In John he refers to him in the Hebrew Kephas/ Cephas, and if Jesus had meant to him as a small stone or pebble there is a perfectly good Greek word "lithos"

Perhaps you should as yourself if Jesus meant to refer to peter in the diminutive, why did he refer to him as Kephas / Cephas in the Hebrew and why didn't Jesus refer to him as Lithos in Matthew?

God said (scriptures): Build a Church, singular, one church.
Mat 16:18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.

Confirmation (scriptures) there will only be one church, and no matter what, It will stand against all hell. Sorry I can only see this as being the Catholic Church, For what other church has the succession of Authority? Only one church can have Authority, The rest can and I know do serve in other ways. Anyone can disagree all they want, but I will take the Word of God over the interpretations of Men.

EPH 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.

Col 1:18 He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be pre-eminent.

Col 1:24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church,

Mat 18:17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

I see that John 20:23 does not pertain to you.

The act called a sacrament of confession to a RCC priest “confessor” in the RCC is heresy.

This arrant nonsense is based on what? Pride or jealousy?

This little bit of nonsense is worthy of Dr. Timothy Leary. We condemn nobody. We let them condemn themselves.

Did anyone “rightly divide the word of truth” in the 4th century? if yes, who?

Yes - GOD DID rightly divide before the 4th century as THIS was in HIS mind when He instructed Paul to write II Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Yes - PAUL DID rightly divide before the 4th century as GOD had instructed him to do so before the 4th century

The problem with the Catholics is that they fail to rightly divide the Word during any century, that in large part is why so many correct Bible doctrines are offering reproofs to them to learn about correct doctrines rightly divided to understand the difference between Israel and Gentiles.

Furthermore, is it any wonder that the very next chapter after II Timothy 2:15 is II Timothy 3:16 which call all Christian's following Paul are to be Ambassadors to offer correct Bible doctrines with reproof for correction for instruction in righteousness:

II Timothy 3:16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That's your response to Scripture that clearly shows The Truth? Catholics are not interested in Truth and 'didn't know' will be no excuse when the time comes. CB's post will show you did but ignored it and tried to make fun of it. That doesn't end well. God/His Word will not be mocked, you reap what you sow, MORE than you sow, LATER than you sow.

"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." Gal 6:7,8

You really believe there was no leaders in the New Testament Bible? That is one of the original declarations by CB.

You see it goes around in a circle where it is obvious.

So then you declare this:

"Catholics are not interested in Truth and 'didn't know' will be no excuse when the time comes. CB's post will show you did but ignored it and tried to make fun of it. That doesn't end well. God/His Word will not be mocked, you reap what you sow, MORE than you sow, LATER than you sow."

"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." Gal 6:7,8

Thats nice scripture! Did you wrap it around yourself then try to make a judgment call on another.Nobody's mocking God. I am kidding him. I am not better than any one on these threads.

Do not get me mixed up with group only Catholics. we are all individuals. I do not judge you. I do almost like my friend Quix who use photos to make a point. He showed me how to do it years ago. Did you complain when he did it. Even when we disagreed I thought his photos were funny. So try to get to know me.

Photobucket

In the mean time Peace to you and CB! I will be praying for us all on these threads. Praise Jesus to you!

All I see in those verses is Jesus, who is about to die, wanting his mother cared for in his absence. What do you see?

'With so much blood on the Catholic church's hands. It could not possibly be the Church of Christ.'

I notice no one respond to your comment. Could it be that they just ignore? or how can one forget? their own recent EVIL and UN-CHRISTIAN like ACTIONS by the Vatican itself in the last 100 years?

Then if you want to be seen differently - accept Truth publicly when it's posted - not mock it.

I do almost like my friend Quix

Quix NEVER mocked God/His Word. He called out heresy very well - spot on!

who use photos to make a point

And your point was what?

Matthew 8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

WHen I read the verses above I can’t help but think that calling the head of the church “Holy Father” would fit in with what Christ was advising against?

Judges 17 it says Micah was a young man and he asked the Levite to stay with him and be his father AND his priest and further on he refers to himself as his priest.

John 2 Jesus is calling God His father. ?
2 Corinthians 12 he is speaking to a church.

I read through all the verses that you posted. I see the usage of the word father in a different context than you. Fathers is indeed used many times in relation to ancestors and those that came before...such as “church fathers.” I take that as how we use the term our “founding fathers” Fathers in the faith is the way I see it used mostly in those verses.

“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.’ “

“All believers in Christ at Pentecost were the first priests of the catholic Church.”

1. According to whom?

2. So all believers were the first priests? And is that true today also? And if it is true, why are only certain people called “priests” in Catholicism?

And As i pointed out from the word from John "Kephas, or Cephas" is the Hebrew word for Rock.

Yes, little rock; and I ain't talkin' Arkansas...

Tqht is a common mistake by people that have little or no knowledge of Greek.

But c'mon, really...Kephas is not Hebrew...Cephas is not Hebrew...You want to try again???
