Christian Quarterback's Stats Evoke Bible Verse
DENVER - Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has accidentally, but perhaps providentially, made John 3:16 the most searched item on Google.
Not only did Tebow -- the outspoken son of Christian missionaries -- produce an upset victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers with his touchdown pass in overtime, but that pass left him with 316 yards. He averaged 31.6 yards per toss, and CBS's TV rating peaked at 31.6 during the game.
All those 3-16s had flocks of fans searching the Internet, where they found the Bible verse where Jesus says: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life."
In college, Tebow sometimes painted John 3:16 in the eye black on his face. But on Sunday, the numbers preached for themselves.

Tim is imperfect, but he did have a clause in his contract that if he threw a touchdown pass in a playoff game, he would receive a million dollar bonus!
What will people say if Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees or Tom Brady manages to pass for 666 yards in a game?
If you subtract Jordan Jefferson’s run/pass yards from Bama’s total offense yards, you get 316.
Let me preface this comment by saying that I have always (and still do) considered Tebow to be a great young man and Christian.
However, during his game against the Steelers on Sunday, a friend brought up something I have not considered before. Tebow’s family runs a mission in the Philippines— a country that is majority Catholic but does have populations of Protestants, Muslims, and other religions. Who exactly is Tebow preaching to there? Is it other Protestants and non-Christians, or is he one of those people who feel that Catholics need to be converted to his version of Christianity?

1. A number of 316 co-incidences in the game, as pointed out by the article.
2. Tim Tebow had been banned from having Face Paint with John 3:16 under his eyes.
3. Tim Tebow had been the subject of criticism for saying that he wanted to thank his "Lord Jesus and Savior" after one of his games.
Tim is the son of Christian Missionaries. He is trying to profess his Christian faith as a QB in the NFL.
Bottom line: that would be apples to oranges.

It is a nationwide event to show devotion to the Divine Mercy at 3pm.
The Phillipines has had two peaceful revolutions where the rosary was key to the success of these peaceful revolutions.
Basically, the Philippines is a Catholic nation that one or two missionaries will not change.
However, what Tim has done is the United States is a great good considering how immoral the United States is these days.
Finally, as a Roman Catholic, I have to say that Catholics need to preach like the other Christians are doing.
I personally like John 3:15 over John 3:16, and I find it very interesting what Jesus says in the verses that lead up to John 3:16 [Basically that Jesus has a hard enough time trying to explain things of earth to people let alone heaven...]
A friend of mine was one of 50 people invited to meet with Pope John Paul II during his layover in Saint Louis, MO on his way to Mexico City in January 1999. The person said that the message of Pope John Paul II was one that need to be preaching and reaching out to people -- just is Tim Tebow is trying to do [and is being martyred for his efforts by the media].

We need to stop focusing on the Gospel of Hate and focus on the Gospel of Love

Jesus said that the two greatest commandments are:
Love your neighbor as yourself. Love God with your WHOLE heart, mind and sould.
Let us try to focus on love and not hate...
It seems to go unnoticed that his OT Receiver, Thomas, has a 25 December B’day...
By contrast, the Gospel of Love is RED to remind us of the blood Jesus shed for our sins (as well as the blood of the Martyrs) and to remind us to love one another.
In the Catholic Religion, and probably other Christian religions, the Christmas season ended.

It is my hope with some of these football games that something might happen to bring people closer to God and farther from Satan... Some of the controversy surrounding Tim Tebow is doing that.

Indeed. And we pray that the Holy Ghost cause all those people to have saving faith, that is, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ; trusting that He and He alone is their personal Savior.

What will they say if they pass 66.6?
I’m not a big numerologist myself, but the Bible is heavily numerological.
The probability of all of those stats being as they are, and aligned as they are is interestingly low.
If it led to all that Googling, so much the spookier.
A bunch of folks won’t be able to say they hadn’t heard the news at least.
Some missions are there not to spread the word, but to feed the poor. The Philippines have plenty of poor people. Father Damian on Molokai was there to help the lepers (visit and help the sick - one of the ‘fruits of the holy spirit’)
From what I have seen of Tebow's missionary work, he does both.
