All writings are open to question, not prayer. Praying to know if a writing is ‘true’ isn’t Biblical at all.

But, if you think it is, prove it. Show me the verse in context.

God gave us brains he expects us to use them. Or do you pray to know if the nutrition information in your box of cereal is ‘true’?

Here's the problem:

But, if you think it is, prove it. Show me the verse in context.

Showing a verse in the Bible does not prove something to be true. You may believe it to be true, but I don't. That's why the word "FAITH" is used as a synonym for religion. The entire field of religion is a metaphysical concept - something that is beyond proof. You are not going to prove anything in metaphysics. If something is proven, it is no longer in that field, and you don't need faith.

The story-telling that leads people to become irrational is one of the greatest problems in religious societies. "Good" should come from religion. It is ironic that many bigots cannot stop themselves from judging people in ways that a loving God would never judge others.

That opinion is metaphysical as well.
