As not a catholic or former - it's not coming from bias. Smvoice posts words straight from the mouths of the catholic hierarchy. And catholics attack it with their bias to protect the church from itself; for example 'They didn't mean it that way', 'it's not something we are 'compelled' to believe', 'worship isn't worship', 'he's not bowing to the statue but....', 'that wasn't a koran' blah, blah.
Spin it away seeing you proclaim to be 'in the business' for awhile and this is the result.... "So you support contraception too? So far were 3/3 with those who left the church supporting contraception." When the truth is no one supported as you claim.
One can make an unbiased opinion where that 'tactic/practice' comes from.
Everyone has bias.
Some are aware of theirs. Some are not.
It is quite easy to selectively (and dishonestly) cite evidence. Citing the evidence that agrees with you while ignoring evidence that is ‘inconvenient’ is a form of systematic bias.
I am amused that you are summing up our previous arguments, when I know exactly what was posted and what the counter arguments were.
Apparently it is Catholics who are steeped in bias, while everyone else is pure as the driven snow. Unfortunately that is not so.
I know my bias. I am a Catholic. I was a protestant, and I understand what protestants believe and why. Everyone knows my bias because I am open and honest to put it forth before posting. :)
