Well it could, if that was the only verse in the chapter...But the verses that go with it disqualify the woman as being Mary...
Or, the woman could be the Nation of Israel...Whereas the rest of the verses that go along with it fit very nicely...Along with numerous prophetic verses thruout the scriptures...
