Indeed. All this hand wringing about how terrible a person is just that when she is left among the flock. Those who refused to act are her enablers. I agree. It's difficult to understand why she was so long tolerated rather than excommunicated - which is what the Christian church according to Paul in the epistles to the Corinthians demanded they do. The leaders failed in their obligations. The article said, "I am sure God smiled and the angels danced.” I think it is rather the god of this fallen world and his fallen angels that are smiling.
